On the road to Myitkyina, Myanmar: needed: 12 point-and-shoot cameras

You helped us buy cameras for the Vietnam photo workshop; as a direct spin-off of that project, MSppa has been asked to facilitate a photo workshop with kids from 2 community-based orphanages in Myitkyina, Myanmar.  There has been intermittent fighting here for several years between the Kachin Independence Army and the Tatmadaw (Burmese army).  The children in the orphanages are either war orphans or in care because their parents are unable to look after them due to drug misuse.

The MY STORY photo project needs to buy 12 point-and-shoot cameras for a May workshop in Myitkyina, Myanmar. Kids from 2 orphanages  (ages 10 +) will learn some basic photo techniques and then tell their stories in images. Their images will be part of the fall MY STORY photo exhibition in Nova Scotia, where prints will be for sale. 50% of the profits go back to the photographer ( the other 50% go to the purchase of new cameras so we don’t have to bug you again ).
